Objective 

Elementary First Aid (EFA) in the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) training is to equip seafarers with the basic skills and knowledge needed to provide immediate and effective first aid in the event of an accident or medical emergency at sea.

Content

Basic principles of first aid. 

Managing wounds and bleeding. 

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 

Treatment of shock, burns, and fractures. 

Handling medical emergencies on board.
